REQUIRED ACCESS RIGHTS TO THE APP

Internet access/Internet data:
Required to download the corresponding icons upon initial start-up, display the manual, display the FAQ and (if the user wishes) perform an online backup of their diary.

Read/modify/delete SD card contents:
Required to save the data on your end device and use it offline

Google Play invoicing service:
This is required to activate the fee-based offers in the app. You are free to use these services or not

COLLECTED DATA

The app does not collected any automated user data. The app does not send any automated user data.

On the "Settings" page, the user has the option of backing up their personal diary online. The use of the service is voluntary and non-obligatory. The entered data is encrypted by the app. The email address entered by the user the first time the app is started is only saved on the user’s end device. This email address is only used for the automated transmission of the PIN in case it is forgotten. The basic version of all data is only saved on the end device, not online!

HOW LONG IS THIS DATA STORED?

The diary data is saved on the end device or the server as long as the user wishes. The user can delete their own diary on the Settings page. The user can also delete their online backup. The backups cannot be restored. The use of these services is voluntary and the user bears the responsibility. We recommend using the delete functions carefully as the data cannot be restored and are lost for the user.

DATA TRANSMISSION TO THIRD PARTIES

The app provider does not transfer any user data to third parties.

PANIC DIARY DATA

The app only saves the diary data on the respective device on which the app is used. The data is not automatically saved on an online server!
If the diary user enters data and presses the SAVE button, the app only saves this data on the respective device. If the user wants to back their diary up, the user has to initiate that themselves in the app. The database is not automatically backed up offline!

OFFLINE BACKUP:
On the Settings page, the user can perform a local database backup. They only have to press the corresponding button. The database is saved as an encrypted and saved as a text file. This database is then no longer readable and can only be decrypted by the user. This file is only on the user’s end device and is not sent online. If the database is deleted for the user as a result of a device malfunction or "cleaning programs", the user can restore their diary with the help of an offline backup. We recommend defining the app as an exception if you use "cleaning programs".

ONLINE BACKUP:
On the Settings page, the user can perform an online backup of their diary. They only have to press the corresponding button. The database is encrypted as a text file, saved and stored on a secured server via a secure SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) connection. This file is no longer readable and can only be downloaded and decrypted by the user. The user must enter their Google account. Without the user’s own Google account, the app cannot download or decrypt the database. Only the app, in conjunction with the user’s Google account, can access the user’s own database.

USER RIGHTS

The operator of the "Panic Diary" app has no knowledge of the user’s personal data. Neither the user’s PIN, email address nor the database can be viewed or read by the operator.
